Juan lives with his family on a coffee farm.  He likes to play basketball and enjoys traveling.  Juan is concerned about racial discrimination and prejudice.  He believes that each person must take responsibility for addressing these issues in their community.  Juan looks forward to the Youth Summit as an opportunity to meet peers from many cultures and to interact with adult leaders. 

Salsa, merengue, Balada and other Latin sounds are among Juan's favorite music, but he also likes pop, rock, and reggae.  He describes himself as friendly, serious, respectful, tolerant, and accepting.  In his free time, Juan plays music, works on his computer and spends time with his friends. 

Every year Juan goes to a poor community where he teaches health, distributes food, and helps with repairs.

David is known for its agriculture and petroleum.
